We’ve had an eventful first weekend here at the Springdale Barrel Room! Big thanks to all who were able to brave the elements Saturday and joined us for some fun, beer, and games. We’re excited to already have so many familiar faces returning again and again.

This week, we will be open Thursday 4-10pm, Friday 4-11pm, and Christmas Eve Saturday 11:30am-6pm. We will be closed for Christmas on Sunday. Growlers will be available, as well as bottles of Slanting Light. We’ve also got new gear just in time for Christmas, including a few limited-run hats and scarves for your “Nice” list.

Thursday we will unveil two new IPAs, Sir Edmund and Mr. Hubble, packed with Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy hops respectively . We will also debut our live barrel sampling system, offering from-the-barrel pours of a single barrel of sour beer. We’ll also tap our first cask, the stately “Walk On Porter.”

Now, for the less fortunate news – our licensing process suffered a pretty significant hiccup last week. A clerical error on our initial application forced us to resort to single day licenses until we could resubmit our formal application to the State. This means that after this weekend we will be closed for at least two weeks while our license is under review. We will continue to pour a selection of our beers at the Jack’s Abby Beer Hall, and will offer limited growlers of our beers at the Jack’s Abby growler station.

Our official grand opening will coincide with our receipt of our permanent license. We will relaunch hard with new games, two canned hoppy beers, and the first bottle release of “Kriek Mythology.” It will be a proper party that you won’t want to miss, so stay tuned for the date.

We’re sorry to disappoint you all over the next few weeks. It will be a difficult period for us, especially our new staff, so come raise a pint with them this weekend if you can.
