Event Details

Alchemy is the seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination.

In the production of beer making, a variety of raw ingredients are heated up to initiate chemical transformation of starches to sugars and from sugars to alcohol. Followed by a period of cooling, what results is a fermented beverage that has been enjoyed across cultures and to ancient times. The discovery of this process was a profound one for our nomadic ancestors 10,000 years ago. Beer became one of the most important sources of nutrition by providing people protein that unfermented grain couldn’t supply.

Not unlike the alchemization process involved in brewing, yoga asana takes us through a journey of transformation through movement, breathworth, heat building and rest.

In this special yoga class, we’ll use mindful movement and breathing to reduce stress, invigorate the body and create a clarity of mind. The pace of this flow class will be unrushed and reflect on our ability to transform ourselves with the yogic principle of tapas (austerity/disciple/heat ) and santosha (contentment).

Following class, Springdale Beer will be offering samples of their signature beers to guests. In the mindful and present state developed through the class, your senses may be enhanced, allowing you to notice and appreciate the subtle nuances of their barrel-aged beer.

Please join instructor Lauren Turner for a fun and mindful exploration of yoga & beer. http://bit.ly/2PhcyWh
